I’m a Researcher, Archivist and Genealogist. I started researching my family tree in the mid-1970’s before the internet made it so much easier, and more complicated. So much on the internet is NOT well researched, and copying it is a temptation too many succumb to. I hope to blog about what I’ve found in my own research – maybe you’ll find your missing link here!

  1. patricia ray (Ray by marriage) and Clifford Ray's avatar patricia ray (Ray by marriage) and Clifford Ray says:

I am C. Ray my father was Ronald Albert Ray.

I have a brother Grahame and my father had brothers.

My father was 18 in 1945 and just missed the war and did national service.

I have been researching the family off and on and have gone back in parts to 1620 ish. Alterations of spellings has made thinks difficult but a lot of that which you have found matches my own research. My immediate family hails from Edmonton and Wlathamstow London. Ronald was a shopfitter and his brother John repaired watches. When their father fell of scaffolding (although I am told he was a journeyman plumber) his placed his kids in a children’s home where he met his second wife and her children,.

    • Yes, I have your father in my tree – born 18 Jun 1927 – but do not have your mother’s name. He had a sister Eileen Violet, and brothers John Derrick and Douglas Michael. His father was John Albert and mother was Violet G. (Frewin). John Albert’s father was John Laxon Ray and his mother was Louisa Emily (Turner). My grandfather, Alexander Tsar Ray, was John Laxon Ray’s kid brother. Which makes you my 2nd cousin once removed. Welcome to the family!! 🙂
